Frequently Asked Questions for Cincinnati
What is an escape game?
Escape games are real life adventures where you and your fellow players have an hour to break out of a room by cracking codes, solving riddles, piecing together puzzles and finding clues. The game originated in Japan and is based off escape the room video games created by Toshimitsu Takagi in 2005.
Is there an age limit?
What time should my group arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking. We do have to keep a strict schedule, so if you arrive late you may not receive the full 60 minutes in your room.
Do I need to bring anything with me to escape?
Are you really going to lock us in?
No! Your safety is our top priority, so we don’t really lock you in. You have the option to leave the escape room at any time if necessary.
Are there cameras in the escape rooms?
Yes. Cameras are used to monitor your live experience.
What happens if we don't solve anything?
We will be monitoring your progress throughout the escape game. Our game masters will provide clues if you get stuck — after all, we want you to have fun! Remember, it’s not only about trying to escape the room, it’s about the full experience.
What if we don't book all the available spots for an escape room?
Now all of our rooms are private when you book a game at Breakout. Don’t worry about playing with strangers, it’s just you and your team. Plus, the larger your team the more you save; so invite your friends!
Do I need to book our escape game in advance?
Are the tickets refundable?
No cancellations are allowed, but we will work with you to reschedule a game if an emergency arises.
Are tickets transferable to a friend?
What forms of payments are accepted?
Is there a limit to the number of players?
All of our escape games have a minimum of 2 players and a maximum of 7-8 players (depending on the theme).
Can I take photos or video while playing the escape games?
Sorry, but we ask that you refrain from taking photos or videos in the escape rooms.
