Just 5 miles northeast of downtown Newport News, Breakout Games is easy to reach with a simple 10-15 minute drive from most parts of town. You can either head up Warwick Boulevard to Denbigh until you reach the DW Center on the right, where Breakout resides. Or, you can take I-64 West until Exit 255A. Turn right onto Jefferson Ave (VA-143). Turn left onto Bland Boulevard, then right onto Warwick Boulevard. Breakout is on the right in the DW Center.

Few things can adequately prepare someone for the intensity and excitement of an escape room, but here are a few quick pointers: Work together as a team. There’s no need to showboat or make conflict with teammates. You’re all striving for the common goal of escaping in time. Also, keep an eye on the clock, as time passes very quickly. Lastly, take advantage of your clues. We try to offer assistance when needed, and inevitably, most groups get stuck on something or another. So instead of digging deep into your advanced Calculus knowledge, when you get stumped for 5-10 minutes on a single step, just ask for help. Chances are the solution was something pretty simple that you guys just happened to miss. Trust me, you’ll feel a lot better having broken out after using 2 clues than fretting over what went wrong when you refused to ask for help.
