One of our motos at Breakout Games is to “be aggressive, not destructive” while in our escape rooms. But what does this really mean? Ultimately, the key to being aggressive but not destructive is finding the perfect balance to jumping into the action and testing out all of the room’s possibilities without disrupting the game play and surrounding environment. Let’s take a look at a few simple rules you can follow to make sure you get the most out of being aggressive, but not destructive while playing our escape rooms!
You Won't Need to Climb
While certain elements of a room may seem like they’d be fun to scale, you won’t need to climb on anything in any of our escape rooms. In fact, climbing may even be a hindrance to your experience. After all, climbing can result in damages to the room or even yourself, both of which will slow down the solving process and negatively impact your playtime. For this reason, you and your group won’t need to climb anything in any of our escape rooms.
You Won't Need to Pry Open or Unscrew Anything
We know it can be tempting, but none of our games have props that need to be forced open, taken apart or unscrewed. This can be something that is helpful to keep in mind as you navigate the clues that you’ll encounter in our variety of different escape scenarios. After all, if the only solution you can think of is taking something apart, this could be a sign that you may want to explore other possibilities or even ask your Game Master for a hint!
You Won’t Need to Throw Things (Usually!)
While it can be fun, you won’t need to throw or toss the majority of the elements in our escape rooms. This is good to keep in mind specifically for fragile items in our rooms. After all, breaking a vital prop or clue will slow down the momentum you and your group have built, which we don’t want for your escape experience! However, keep in mind that this specific tip can have a couple of exceptions depending on the room that you are playing. If you or a member of your group finds specific and clear instructions to toss something in the game, you may have found a rare exception to this tip!
When getting started in any room, it’s best to try to put your best foot forward and play strategically. Playing too aggressively where it becomes destructive will ultimately hurt your escape experience, and slow down your puzzle solving. As a result, try to keep these helpful tips in mind as you navigate your next escape room at Breakout Games.
