Escape Room Tips & Strategy

Few things can adequately prepare someone for the intensity and excitement of an escape room, but here are a few quick pointers:

  • Work together as a team. There's no need to showboat or make conflict with teammates. You're all striving for the common goal of escaping in time.
  • Keep an eye on the clock, as time passes very quickly.
  • Take advantage of your clues. We try to offer assistance when needed, and inevitably, most groups get stuck on something or another.
  • Instead of digging deep into your advanced Calculus knowledge, when you get stumped for 5-10 minutes on a single step, just ask for help. Chances are the solution was something pretty simple that you guys just happened to miss. Trust me, you'll feel a lot better having broken out after using 2 clues than fretting over what went wrong when you refused to ask for help.

Restaurants & Recommendations for Escape Room Night

Breakout Woburn

There are several great restaurants right by our Woburn location that we can recommend for a fun night out after your escape room. For fine dining, check out Strega Prime for steaks and fine Italian food. Several less expensive options that are within a 5 minute drive of Breakout include WUBurger and Cafe Sorelli. A couple fun ethnic restaurants include nearby Sichuan Garden and Lanna Thai Diner. A fun area to check out in the day time is Horn Pond, which is a quick 10 minute drive south along 38 or Winn Street to Arlington Road, which runs alongside the park.

Breakout Marlborough

Numerous chain restaurants reside near this location if you’re seeking a quick bite, including Chipotle, Jersey Mike’s, and Subway. However, there are other fun spots including Japan One, 99 Restaurants, and Linguini’s Italian Eatery. Fine dining is available at Allora Restaurante, while several Brazilian infused restaurants in the Marlborough town center provide something a bit different including Pruller Restaurant for a Brazilian buffet and Lake Williams Pizza. Another fun place to take kids is Trombetta’s Farm, which includes Mini Golf, Ice Cream, and a garden center. This is just a 15 minute drive west of Breakout."
