5 Tips for Throwing an Unforgettable Escape Room Halloween Party

Halloween is just around the corner and it is time to start brainstorming some new and innovative ideas for a spooky party. Our escape rooms sell out fast on Halloween and the weekends leading up to it. We recommend booking a room as far as you can in advance to get the theme and time slot you want. You don’t want to plan a whole party, only to realize that the room you want to play is fully booked! So make your Halloween party plans early.

When it comes to choosing an escape room for Halloween, it's best to go with one that is spooky and has that Halloween vibe. Look for escape rooms that have a creepy or mysterious backstory and storyline that will add to the Halloween feel.

At Breakout Games, none of our escape rooms are designed to be outright scary. There are no live actors in our escape rooms, and there are only mild surprises, not huge jump scares. But we do have some rooms that fit well into a Halloween theme. 

If you want a creepy room, The Kidnapping is for you. In one of our first and most popular escape rooms, you are handcuffed in a strange room and must escape in time. 

If you want to solve a murder mystery, choose CLUE. We’ve teamed up with Hasbro to bring the classic board game to life. Identify the correct suspect, weapon, and room before time runs out. 

If you want a mysterious room, Mystery Mansion is a great choice. Race against the clock to uncover the mansion’s secrets in this mystery adventure. 

It's important to keep your guest list small and intimate. Escape rooms are designed for smaller groups, so make sure you have the right number of people attending. Keep in mind that our rooms at Breakout have a maximum of 6-8 players.

You don't want to overcrowd the escape room and ruin the experience for everyone. Invite people who are interested in Halloween and enjoy participating in the game. 

Dressing up to fit the theme of the escape room you choose adds another element of fun to your escape room Halloween party. If you choose CLUE, for example, you can come dressed up as the CLUE characters. If you choose our Operation: Casino room, you can dress up in formal cocktail attire. Or if you choose Wild West, you can come in your best Western attire. Our escape room themes offer lots of fun options for creative costumes.

While we do not allow photos or videos in our escape rooms, we definitely recommend taking lots of pictures before and after your adventure. At the end of your escape room experience, we will take your group picture with your escape room time. But we also recommend taking some fun photos yourselves. Many of our escape room lobbies have fun Halloween-themed props that you can pose with. You’ll definitely be able to capture some Instagram-worthy Halloween photos.
