Other Escape Rooms in Boston
Boston is a great city for escape rooms, with tons of options in and around the city. Serious escape room fanatics will want to try them all. Some of our favorites include Trapology, Amaze Escape, Raid the Room, Komnata Quest Escape Room, and Boxaroo. While Breakout remains the premier option for escape rooms and has most recognized brand in the country, we support many of the other escape games and their rooms. Since rooms are typically played just once, you’ll soon play all the rooms available at Breakout and want to play all the rest!
Other Escape Games
While escape rooms remain the most popular part of Breakout, a new subscription service offers a different take around puzzle-based mystery games. Breakout Games’ latest creation is Dispatch, which sends a monthly escape game box to your home that can be played at your convenience. The ongoing narrative requires you to take the box’s items out and navigate their mysteries, figuring out each piece of the puzzle as you go along. It’s an excellent way for families or friends to get together and enjoy a fun evening solving puzzles! If you’re into escape rooms, you’ll certainly love to take a stab at Dispatch!
Escape Room Tips and Strategy
I won’t sugarcoat it: escape rooms are hard! Many groups struggle to break out in time on their first outing, and even experienced veterans can find it hard to escape these challenging rooms despite how many they’ve done before. Here are some helpful tips: Always work together with your teammates and have effective communication. Often times clues go together with another piece in the room. You’ll need to be talking with each other to figure these things out fast. Also, keep a close eye on the clock. An hour passes quickly in an escape room! Lastly, I highly advise asking for help when you get stumped. Of course you want to spend some time working out riddles for yourself, but if you’re stuck on the same step for 5-10 minutes, you need to hurry up and move on, because there are simply too many other things that need to be solved in time. Leave your ego at the door, ask for help when you need it, and move on. Trust me, when you experience the satisfying thrill of breaking out with 20 seconds left on the clock, you won’t regret having asked for that clue 15 minutes earlier…
Restaurants and Recommendations for an Escape Room Night
There are several great restaurants right by our Woburn location that we can recommend for a fun night out after your escape room. For fine dining, check out Strega Prime for steaks and fine Italian food. Several less expensive options that are within a 5 minute drive of Breakout include WUBurger and Cafe Sorelli. A couple fun ethnic restaurants include nearby Sichuan Garden and Lanna Thai Diner. A fun area to check out in the day time is Horn Pond, which is a quick 10 minute drive south along 38 or Winn Street to Arlington Road, which runs alongside the park.
Numerous chain restaurants reside near this location if you’re seeking a quick bite, including Chipotle, Jersey Mike’s, and Subway. However, there are other fun spots including Japan One, 99 Restaurants, and Linguini’s Italian Eatery. Fine dining is available at Allora Restaurante, while several Brazilian infused restaurants in the Marlborough town center provide something a bit different including Pruller Restaurant for a Brazilian buffet and Lake Williams Pizza. Another fun place to take kids is Trombetta’s Farm, which includes Mini Golf, Ice Cream, and a garden center. This is just a 15 minute drive west of Breakout.
