Escape Room Tips & Strategy
Few things can adequately prepare someone for the intensity and excitement of an escape room, but here are a few quick pointers:
- Work together as a team. There's no need to showboat or make conflict with teammates. You're all striving for the common goal of escaping in time.
- Keep an eye on the clock, as time passes very quickly.
- Take advantage of your clues. We try to offer assistance when needed, and inevitably, most groups get stuck on something or another.
- Instead of digging deep into your advanced Calculus knowledge, when you get stumped for 5-10 minutes on a single step, just ask for help. Chances are the solution was something pretty simple that you guys just happened to miss. Trust me, you'll feel a lot better having broken out after using 2 clues than fretting over what went wrong when you refused to ask for help.
Restaurants & Recommendations for Escape Room Night
Escape rooms go great with dinner, so we highly encourage guests to head out for a nice meal following our escape rooms. This is also a great way to socialize with your group, debrief from the room, and discuss your experience. In the rush of solving puzzles in the room while the clock runs down, there really isn’t time to discuss how you solved things or what you were thinking. The next step beckons. Therefore, heading out to eat afterwards or grabbing drinks is the perfect complement to playing at Breakout Games - Jacksonville. Here are some of our favorite options near the store: Baymeadows road has several fine eateries, including La Nopalera Mexican, Waffle House, Wicked Barley Brewing Company, Beirut (Mediterranean), Stonewood Grill and Tavern, 5th Element Indian, Metro Diner, and Bowl of Pho. There are also several popular chains. Likewise if you leave Breakout and take a right on Philips Highway, you’ll soon find many familiar eateries like Zaxby’s, McDonald’s, another Waffle House, Chick-Fil-A, Whataburger, and Applebees. And if you’re seeking more fun and games with your meal, check out Dave & Buster’s on Salisbury Road.
