If you're a parent considering taking your kids to an escape room, you probably have many questions about it. At Breakout, we welcome escape room players of all ages! And we want our rooms to be fun for the entire family. Here are some of the top questions we get from parents, answered!
Is there an age limit?
Anyone can play, with a couple of conditions. Kids over 14 can play the rooms without a parent or guardian present. Kids 13 and under must have a parent or guardian in the room with them. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver to play.
Are the rooms safe?
Yes! We want everyone to have fun AND be safe in our rooms. The doors in our rooms do not actually lock. You are free to leave the room at any time. You will also have a personal game master to assist you. They will monitor your progress throughout the game from a control room. They will make sure that your entire group is safe, and they will be available to give you hints if you need them. Finally, we follow strict sanitizing procedures to ensure our rooms are clean and safe for all guests. So you can be sure that your family will feel comfortable in our rooms.
How difficult are the rooms?
At Breakout, we don't rank our rooms by difficulty. Groups can receive an unlimited amount of hints. So you can control the difficulty yourselves by asking for more or fewer hints as you play.
Are the rooms kid-friendly?
While some of our rooms have more mature themes (such as The Kidnapping, Hostage, and Do Not Disturb), none of our rooms have elements that are inappropriate or scary. We suggest that you pick a room theme considering your children's ages and interests.
What are the best rooms for kids?
While kids can play any of our rooms, some they seem to like the best are CLUE, Museum Heist, Wild West, and Island Escape.
Can we have a children's birthday party here?
Absolutely! We love making birthdays an unforgettable experience at Breakout. Check out this post for tips on planning an escape room birthday party.
